PESHAWAR: The doctors of the Lady Reading Hospital have expressed concern over the proposed health reforms at a recently held meeting here.
The meeting was arranged by Medical Director Dr Aamir Ghafoor and Dr Nowsherwan Burki. Members of the Teaching Staff Association and senior faculty members attended the meeting. Dr Burki briefed the meeting about the proposed health reforms. He explained the proposed organisational structure in order to deliver optimal healthcare to the patients.
The faculty welcomed the proposed establishment of a hospital pharmacy to provide free medicines to all indoor patients, upgradation of diagnostics and supportive services.
However, they expressed reservations over the proposed biometric attendance system and independent monitoring systems. The meeting also expressed reservations over some of the names proposed for the Board of Governors and demanded that retired senior clinicians should also be included in it.
