The Roots International School (RIS) students raised their voice for protecting the polar bear by running a campaign ‘Wrap with care, save the polar bear’ at the Wellington Campus.
The young students stated that the fire to protect the polar bear is spreading worldwide. More and more students are getting devoted to join the cause.
Roots International Schools celebrated a day with students to bring awareness on how to save the dreaded endangered species of polar bear around the globe that have succumbed to exploitation and un-protecting environment for them.
RIS students staged a tableau highlighting on the fact that the reduction in sea ice is also considered a major threat, putting it on the dreaded endangered species of polar bear. The students raised the voice on the issue that some polar bears are frozen to death in water because they have no platform to rest on after hunting, leaving them to drown. They emphasised on the fact that people often handle the cubs with no care as cubs face miserable lives being cramped in cages the size of a shoebox, they don’t learn the skills they need to survive because of being trapped in these cages of terror; others are too traumatised and die moments after release.
The students ended the tableau by saying “when the cubs are able to get out of their prison; It’s not for freedom, it’s to be beheaded and imported to other countries as fur coats.”
Young Rootsians also delivered speeches, “If the people understand what's happening, then we can take the best possible measures to safeguard polar bears.” RIS CEO Walid Mushtaq appreciated the young student’s efforts in bringing awareness for the respective cause.
