Islamabad: Dr. Razia Fatima, coordinator research and surveillance at the National Tuberculosis Control Programme, has achieved Ph.D degree from the University of Bergen, Norway, after successfully defending her thesis titled ‘Assessing the Burden of Missing TB Cases in Pakistan.’
Dr. Razia had five publications for her Ph.D, primarily focusing on capture re-capture technique to determine TB incidence, and four more papers on loss-to-follow-up before and after TB diagnosis and active TB case finding in slums. Her papers are accessible on NTP’s website (http://ntp.gov.pk/ resource.php) and her thesis will soon be available for download from http://uib.no
The entire team of the TB programme has congratulated Dr. Razia Fatima for attaining her Ph.D degree and has assured continued support and admiration of her crucial research work in the area of TB control in Pakistan.
