Islamabad: Muhammad Sarwar has assumed the charge as secretary of Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) after his selection by a committee of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.
Around 30 candidates from across the country had applied for the post lying vacant for months but the 'search committee' headed by Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Balighur Rehman shortlisted four of them before picking Muhammad Sarwar, the FBISE deputy secretary, for the post after interview.
The secretary is the administrative head of the FBISE, who manages the board's general administration, prepares agenda for the board of governors' meeting, issues minutes of the meeting, and handles matters on issuance of certificates and affiliation of educational institutions with the board.
