A graceful convocation of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, (SCEE), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), was held at the university’s Jinnah Auditorium.
The convocation was held to award degrees of Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Environmental Engineering, Bachelor of Geographical Information Systems, Master of Engineering in Structural Engineering, Master of Science in Construction Engineering and Management, Master of Science in Environmental Science and, Masters of GIS and RS to the successful students.
Lieutenant General Khalid Asghar, HI (M), Engineer-in-Chief, was the chief guest on the occasion. As many as 229 students were conferred bachelor’s degrees and 33 students’ were conferred master’s degrees in their relevant disciplines. The chief guest awarded the degrees to the graduating students.
Faculty of SCEE, students and their parents, and a large number of distinguished guests from industry and academia attended the occasion.
President’s Gold Medals for Master of Science (Construction Engineering and Management) was awarded to Mughees Aslam. President’s Gold Medals for Master of Science in Environmental Sciences was awarded to Waqas Latif. President’s Gold Medals for Master of Sciences in Structural Engineering was awarded to Khurram Javed. Saher Murad won the President Gold Medal from Masters of Science in GIS & RS.
In Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, President’s Gold Medal for Best in Academics was awarded to Waseem Akhtar. Rector’s Gold Medal for Best Final Year Project was awarded to Uzair Maqbool. Chancellor’s Silver Medal for 2nd Best in Academic was awarded to Saim Raza.
In Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering, President’s Gold Medal for Best in Academics was awarded to Varda Komal. Rector’s Gold Medal for Best Final Year Project was awarded to Hussain Kamran. Chancellor’s Silver Medal for 2nd Best in Academic was awarded to Noor Ul Subha Riaz.
In Bachelor of Engineering in Geoinformatics, President’s Gold Medal for Best in Academics was awarded to Muhammad Mateen Mahmood. Rector’s Gold Medal for Best Final Year Project was awarded to Ali Haroon. Chancellor’s Silver Medal for 2nd Best in Academic was awarded to Saad Sarfraz.
While delivering the welcome address Dr. Tariq Mahmood, Principal SCEE, extended heartiest felicitations to the graduating students, their parents and loved ones. The Principal SCEE wished them the best of luck and a very successful profession in the future. He also congratulated the faculty whose hard work has borne fruit in shape of producing graduates for the country.
Rector NUST Engineer Mohammad Asghar congratulated the graduating students. He emphasized “In the present day of unabated phenomenal explosion of knowledge and scientific inquiry, only those individuals can stay in step who have genuine spirit and passion for learning new concepts and action strategies. I am sure that with your wholehearted efforts and well-directed energies, you shall Insha Allah, succeed in redeeming exacting commitment in your professional life; you have to strive hard to prove yourself worthy of the trust and confidence reposed in you by the nation.”
The chief guest, Lieutenant General Khalid Asghar, HI (M), Engineer-in-Chief, Pakistan Army, congratulated the students for successful completion of their degrees. “You are amongst the luckiest few, who had the opportunity to be nurtured and groomed by a prestigious institution like NUST and SCEE. You must be proud and confident to be part of the university which is amongst top 500 universities in the world ranking.”
