A sixteen-year-old girl was found dead in New Anarkali police limits on Sunday.
Some passersby spotted the body of a young girl lying on Dhani Ram Road and informed the police. The victim bore multiple marks of torture, police said, adding the girl had gone missing from Shadbagh area some days back and a report in this regard was lodged at the police station on August 31, 2015. The girl identified as Sidra Noor was said to be mentally retarded. Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.
Youth killed: A 21-year-old bike rider was killed in an accident on Ring Road on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Fahad. It was reported that Fahad was on his way when an unknown vehicle ran over him. As a result, he received fatal injuries and died on the spot. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced brought dead. When contacted, police said it was yet to be established whether the victim had been killed by a bus or a truck. Police registered a case against the unknown driver and shifted the body to morgue for autopsy.
cylinder blast: At least eight persons received injuries when a gas cylinder exploded in a makeshift tea stall at Suggian sacrificial animal market. Upon being informed, the rescuers rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a local hospital where their condition was said to be out of danger. The injured persons were identified as Tariq, tea stall owner, Abid, Abdul Sattar, Fiaz, Saeed, Shoaib, Tipu Munir and Kashif.
injured: Manawan police shot and wounded an innocent man in its limits on Sunday.
The injured man was identified as Rafaqat. It was reported that the Manawan police officials had raided a local village to round up a proclaimed offender, Akbar, but mistakenly shot and wounded father of four children, Rafqat, who was on his way back home. Police dropped the injured at a local hospital and escaped.
