An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday sent 11 workers of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement on a 14-day judicial remand in cases of targeted attacks, possession of illegal weapons and explosive materials.
The suspects, arrested in a raid conducted by Rangers at Nine Zero on March 11, included Ubaidur Rehman alias Ubaid K2, Amir alias Sar Phatta, Faizan, Sajjad, Noman, Haseeb, Imtiaz, Kazim, Nadim, Obaid Ullah and Asif.
One of the accused, Amir alias Sar Phatta, was wanted for the May 22, 2012 attack on Sindh Muhabbat rally, organised by Sindhi nationalists, which claimed the lives of five people whereas 21 sustained injuries.
An FIR of the attack was registered at the Zaman Town police station by leader Sindh Dost Party Ashiq Ali Chandio who had also claimed that his house was attacked by the accused along with his accomplices which lead to the killings of two men. The cases are currently being heard by the ATC.
