PESHAWAR: The project of setting up a modern tourist resort, chairlift, and skiing facility has gained impetus in the picturesque Malam Jabba area of the Swat valley.With an aim to increase facilities for tourists along modern lines, the company is working on fast-track basis on the project.
The fascinating valley is visited every year by thousands of tourists not only from the country, but outside the world too, following revival of tourism in Swat. Under patronage of provincial government, the project of tourist resort, chairlift, and skiing, was floated by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade in collaboration of Tourism Corporation KP.
Situated at the height of 8,700 feet above the sea level, Malam Jabba is known for its rugged mountains, splendid rivers, fountains, natural beauty and landscape. “It is significant project, which could definitely give further boost to tourism in the scenic valley of Swat, said Senator Mohsin Aziz, Vice-chairman of KP-BoIT while elaborating the importance of the project at a meeting.
The project has been awarded to M/S Samson Group of Companies on long lease, which is developing resort/chairlift/skiing facility in same location two to three decade ago. A land of measuring 275-acre has been acquired for establishment of tourist facilities.
