No place for prejudice, hatred in Islam, says Imam-e-Ka’aba

‘Some elements bringing bad name to religion through violence’; gives Friday sermon at largest mosque of country in Bahria Town, Lahore; to visit Mansoora, Jamia Ashrafia, Badshahi Masjid today

LAHORE: Imam-e-Ka’aba Dr Sheikh Khalid Al-Ghamidi has stressed that Islam has zero tolerance for religious prejudices and hatred, adding that the religion completely forbids violence and terrorism.
“Some elements are using violence to bring a bad name to the Islamic identity, helping enemies to portray Islam as a violent and prejudiced religion,” he said this while delivering the Friday sermon at the largest mosque in Pakistan and seventh largest in the world at the Bahria Town, Lahore.
Over 70,000 people, including men, women, children and noted figures from all walks of life, offered Friday prayers at the mosque.Earlier, Imam-e-Ka’aba was received by Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz Hussain and other dignitaries, including politicians, bureaucrats, amid tight security arrangements as visitors were allowed entry after thorough body search.
Dr Khalid Al Ghamidi, in his sermon, said Islam is the religion of love, peace and forgiving, which forbids using force for conversion and respects differences with respect to sects and other religions. He prayed Allah Almighty might guide the Muslim rulers and grant courage to the rulers of Pakistan for ridding the country of terrorism. He said Islam discourages jealousy and hatred and it was evident that this religion spread only through the message of love. He said Allah Almighty in their ranks and hold fast the rope of Allah to succeed in life and hereafter.
He said Allah orders believers to treat the non-Muslims well and recalled the practice of the Holy Prophet (SAW) who had treated his enemies among the non-Muslim well despite their hatred and maltreatment towards him.
Dr Khalid Al-Ghamidi prayed that Allah Almighty might keep King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz safe and healthy, and showers His blessing on entire Muslim Ummah. Dr Khalid Al-Ghamidi will lead Fajr prayer on Saturday (today) at Mansoorah along with the top leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami.
Later, he will be the chief guest at a function at Jamia Ashrafia and lead Zuhr prayer there.
He will lead Asr prayer at Badshahi Masjid and attend a reception hosted by Chief Khabeeb of Badshahi Masjid Dr Abdul Khabeer Azad.He will also attend a reception by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in the evening.
