Hanna Lake crisis
This refers to the letter, ‘Hanna Lake’ (February 7) by Muhammad Hayat. The writer has narrated the history of the lake in order to highlight its importance. He has pointed out the danger of the lake becoming dry once again if necessary measures are not taken to ensure uninterrupted flow of water into it.
We should appreciate the writer’s concerns about the impending ecological crisis and his effort to point out measures to be taken to avert it. The authorities concerned are requested to take immediate action for the betterment of the lake because this lake is not only a recreational spot and provides a source of livelihood for to the dweller of the area, it also furnishes a venue for organising rowing events in the province.
