Pervaiz Khattak to embark on UK tour
LONDON: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak will lead a delegation of his provincial government for talks with the British government officials and the business community here.
PTI’s UK chapter has told The News that the KP chief minister will be arriving in Edinburgh on the 19th. Pervez Khattak will address two public events in east and west of Scotland on the 21st and 22nd. He will also meet representatives of the Scottish government. Its likely that Muhammad Sarwar, who is currently in Scotland, will delay his return to Pakistan and will assist the KP chief minister.
The North West, including Yorkshire and Humberside chapters of PTI, will host business dinner meeting in Manchester on Saturday the 23rd which will be attended by the chief minister and members of his delegation.
Pervaiz Khattak will address a large public rally in Birmingham on Sunday 24th January which has been organised by the West Midlands chapter. Birmingham is home to a large population of Pashtuns from KP and Kashmiris from Azad Kashmir. BarristerSultan Mahmood, who is currently in PTI, has good support bases amongst Kashmiris of Birmingham.
On Monday 25th January, Pervez Khattak will address a business dinner meeting in London. PTI’s London president Barrister Waheed-ur-Rehman Miah said that during Pervez Khattack’s stay in London, meetings with the British government officials and leading business groups have been arranged. He said that KP has changed a lot under the PTI government and “progress is visible to everyone”.
Barrister Waheed said that tour to the UK will be a great opportunity for the KP chief Minister to explain to overseas Pakistanis the progress made in the province within three years. He said that KP’s education and health reforms have been acknowledged by all and a message has gone out that corruption at no level will be tolerated.
