We need to stay strong to thwart designs of enemies: COAS
RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa Monday said Pakistan greatly valued its brotherly relations with its time-tested friend and will spare no effort to protect the Chinese citizens working on different projects in the country.
The army chief said this during a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong, who called on him at the General Headquarters (GHQ) here, says the ISPR in a press statement. In the wake of the recent Dasu bus incident involving Chinese citizens, the COAS assured the ambassador of full support and cooperation and security of Chinese citizens working in Pakistan.
Gen Bajwa extended heartfelt sympathies and deepest condolences to the Government and the people of the Republic of China, particularly the bereaved families.
“While we work for peace, we need to stay strong to thwart the designs of all inimical forces challenging our resolve, particularly those threatening China-Pakistan strategic cooperation,” said the COAS. Both agreed on the need for continuous engagement and coordination for peace and stability in the region.
