The Sindh government has prepared a comprehensive plan to dispose of the remains of the sacrificial animals in a timely and effective manner in the city on the occasion of Eidul Azha.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Sindh Local Government Secretary Syed Najam Ahmad Shah said that in view of the expected rains during Eidul Azha, the local government department had implemented emergency measures under which special operations would be carried out in all the districts.
He explained that the remains of the animals would be collected non-stop by the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board and would later be transferred to the landfill sites allotted for the purpose.
Shah said the landfill sites of Jam Chakro and Surjani in the city had been designated to receive the offal collected from the Central and Eastern districts, while the offal collected from the Keamari, West and South districts would be shifted to Gond Pass, Hub River Road’s landfill site.
He added that the offal collected from District Malir and District Korangi would be delivered to the Sharafi Goth garbage transfer station.
He clarified that special instructions have been issued by the Sindh local government minister to all the district administrations including all the sub-offices of the local government department as all the institutions would discharge their responsibilities in this regard with complete discipline and coordination.
