Land owners appeal to CM for justice
From Our Correspondent
KASUR: Local land owners have accused a patwari of Kot Murad Khan and an employee of the Tepa of making alterations to the Kasur Bypass project after receiving bribe.
Talking to The News, Ghulam Murtaza, owner of Khasra No 321, alleged that his land was included in the bypass project by changing the approved map. He said he had repeatedly complained to officials concerned in this regard, but to no avail. Protesting against the alleged highhandedness, the owner of Khasra No 335 complained that the patwari was not marking the site despite several requests.
The affected land owners said the Punjab ombudsman had also taken notice of the alleged irregularities in the bypass project and directed the DCO to follow a transparent process in marking the land acquired for the project. “The officials concerned are unmoved even after the Punjab ombudsman order,” they alleged.
The affectees have demanded the Punjab chief minister take immediate notice of the situation and provide them with justice. They also demanded an inquiry into the matter.
