Sikh Yatrees are taking keen interest to invest in Pakistan in the fields of agriculture and housing, this was stated by Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Siddiq-ul-Farooq while addressing a press conference at Board’s office on Saturday.
“We have also offered land to foreign visitors for housing projects”, chairman said adding this year the number of visiting Yatrees increased to a great extent at the birthday celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak.
Sikh Yatrees are currently visiting Pakistan to take part in the birthday celebrations of the founder of Sikh religion Baba Guru Nanak. The yatrees would return to their respective countries on Sunday (today).
Siddiq-ul-Farooq said all the guests have expressed their complete satisfaction over the arrangements made by the ETPB, Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (PSGPC) and other concerned departments. He said he had briefed the Sikh yatrees about various development works being carried out by the ETPB including construction of new rooms and renovations of existing ones to facilitate the foreign visitors. To a question, the ETPB chairman said the matter of land dispute with Punjab Police would be settled soon and IGP Punjab had formed a committee in this regard. He said lawyers of the Board were pursuing the subject case very carefully and have obtained a stay order from the Lahore High Court as well.
