PESHAWAR: Provincial Minister for Education Akbar Ayub Khan has made it clear that no decision to award exam-free promotion to students to next grade has been taken and board examinations would likely be held in the first week of June.
In a video message, the minister rejected the media reports about free promotion to students as baseless. He said that all the district education officers have been directed to announce the results of students from grade 1 to 8th who have already taken their exams at the earliest.
The district officers have been asked to give new books to the students along with result cards and summer vacation task, he said. Strict directives have been issued to the district officers to observe preventive measures during the process in the wake of the Covid-19 risk, he added.
For the private schools, he said, the private schools regulatory authority would soon issue instructions. About the schools where exams have not yet been held, the provincial government would soon workout its strategy, which would be made public, he maintained.
