KARACHI: A soon to be launched mobile application called Sindh Zameen will be free for use by stakeholders and the public for obtaining land records, with the applicants just having to give their CNIC numbers, a press release from the Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) said on Wednesday.
A senior member of Sindh’s Board of Revenue, Waseem Ahmad, said that the government is to introduce the computerisation of all land records, which will be a big support to the stakeholders.
He added that service centres for the computerisation have been opened in all major cities of Sindh.
The chairman of ABAD, Junaid Ashraf Taloo, thanked the Sindh government for the computerisation and said the need for this had been felt for long.
ABAD vice chairman Mohammad Hanif Memon expressed the hope that the change would result in a transparent policy for land auction and close the loopholes enabling corruption in the sale of land.
