ISLAMABAD: Three Kashmiri youths were killed by Indian troops in a violent cordon and search operation in Indian-occupied Kashmir on Saturday, as the disputed region still reels from an ongoing military siege coupled with an outbreak of the coronavirus.
According to the Kashmir Media Service, the troops killed the youths in a cordon and search operation in Hardmanguri area of Kulgam district in the early hours of the day. Two Indian troops were injured in an attack in the same area earlier. The operation was ongoing as the last reports came in.
An Indian police official claimed the youths were militants and were killed in an “encounter” with the troops.
