‘33 quarantine centres set up across Hazara’

ABBOTTABAD: Around 36 quarantine centres, having a capacity of 1441 rooms and 14 halls, have been established in all eight districts of Hazara division to cope with COVID-19 pandemic while out of 43 suspects admitted, only three have been declared positive cases. This was disclosed by DIG Police Hazara range Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman while talking to The News here on Friday. Giving details, he said that eight quarantine centres have been established in Haripur, with 258 rooms, 10 centres in Abbottabad with 867 rooms and 8 halls, six in Mansehra with 182 rooms, three facilities in Battagram with 57 rooms, two in Torghar with 46 rooms, two in Lower Kohistan having 4 rooms and six halls, three in Kolai Pallas with 25 rooms and two in Upper Kohistan with 2 rooms capacity. He said that 5,809 policemen were deployed all over Hazara including police stations, police posts, patrolling posts, inter-district blocking points, and quarantine centers. He said the police have also been planning to develop a strategy for the provision of an adequate supply of food in case of lockdown. Replying to another query, he said that during the lockdown, the police have registered 643 challans against public transport within intra-district blocked points, 67 challans against public transport at inter-district points, 15 cases against hotel owners, 35 against private ceremonies, 30 cases against barbershops, 80 cases against owners of shopping malls, 37 against private amusement places, 15 against violation of the ban on tourism and 10 cases against private hostels and tuition centers all over Hazara.
