Army’s role in peace lauded
LAHORE: A seminar “Pakistan as the Best Tourist Destination” was held at Punjab University’s College of Earth and Environmental Sciences (CEES) here on Wednesday.
CEES Principal Prof Dr Sajid Rashid, Masood Ali Khan and Mukaram Tareen spoke at the event attended by the faculty members and students. Prof Sajid Rashid said Pakistan Army had played a pivotal role in making the country a safe place which had led to promotion of tourism in the country.
Masood Ali Khan said the government must provide more funds for promotion of tourism in Pakistan. He said academia and government institutions must work together for promotion of tourism in the country. Mukkaram Tareen said promotion of tourism could play an important role in strengthening Pakistan’s economy and highlighting positive image of the country.
