Man arrested with 21kg heroin
LAHORE:Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs with the arrest of a passenger and recovery of 21-kg heroin worth millions of rupees from his luggage at airport here on Monday.
A case has been registered against Younis who was trying to smuggle heroin to Birmingham via Dubai. tribute: CCPO Zulfiqar Hameed on Monday met with the family of martyred constable of Dolphin Squad Mohsin Ali and expressed his grief over the loss of precious life.
CCPO presented tribute to Mohsin on his services for the nation. He said one family member will be given job. He offered prayer for the departed soul. The victim was on second number among his 9 brothers and sisters. He got married 7 months ago. Two bikers had opened firing at Dolphin Squad near Mahmood Booti in which Mohsin was martyred while the other constable received injuries.
Meanwhile, CCPO Zulfiqar Hameed met with the delegation of Lahore High Court Bar led by its president Ch Hafeez-ur-Rehman. DIG Operations Rai Babar Saeed was also present at Police Lines during the funeral prayer.
CAR FALLS INTO CANAL: A speeding car fell into canal near Doctors Hospital. Commuters saved the car riders. However, the car was badly damaged. City Traffic police recovered the car with the help of a crane. Meanwhile, a truck broke down near Jail Road which affected traffic flow. Traffic police removed the truck and cleared the traffic.
IGP: Punjab Inspector General of Police Shoaib Dastgir has said officers and officials of Punjab Police are fully alert for the protection of lives and properties of people and eliminating criminals by utilising all available resources.
He said Dolphin constable was not only Mohsin by his name but also he laid his life in the line of duty and proved himself the true Mohsin of the nation after embracing martyrdom. He moreover said that the sacrifice of Mohsin is an unprecedented example for the rest of the force and officers and officials will be ensuring protection of lives and wealth of people by the zeal of martyrdom and public service. He added that the sacrifice of Mohsin will not go wasted and his murderers will soon be rounded up and given punishment in accordance with the law.
