Man killed, four injured over enmity

OKARA: A man was shot dead and four others were injured over an old enmity here.
Zaman Baloch of Chak 43/D had an enmity with some villagers. On Wednesday, Zaman was in his house when his rivals entered and opened indiscriminate firing. As a result, Zaman was killed on the spot while Mian Khan Baloch, Talal, Lal and Zahoor were seriously injured. Depalpur Sadr police are investigating.
WOMAN KILLED ON ROAD: A woman was killed and her nephew injured in an accident near Chak 49/2-L on Okara-Depalpur Road on Wednesday.
Khalid of Chaudhry Colony and his aunt Anwar Bibi were on their way when a truck hit their motorcycle. As a result, Anwar Bibi was killed on the spot while Khalid was injured. The injured man was shifted to a hospital. Sadr police have registered a case.

Youth commits self-immolation
after beloved’s parents refuse proposal

Malik Mehtab of Zafar Colony had fallen in love with a girl and wanted to marry her but the girl’s parents refused. It dejected Mehtab and he set himself ablaze. As a result, he received serious burns. He was shifted to a Lahore hospital where he died.


Wapda accused of sending inflated bills

Talking to newsmen on Wednesday, residents of Samadpura, People’s Colony, Wazeer Colony and Ahmadabad Colony accused the Wapda officials of sending inflated bills. They demanded the government look into the matter and take action against the officials responsible for overbilling.
