Senator inspects hospitals, college

LANDIKOTAL: Senator Taj Mohammad along with Fata Secretariat officials inspected several government institutions, including hospitals and degree college of Landikotal, official sources said on Monday.
A team comprising Senator Taj Muhammad Afridi and Social Welfare Secretary Tariq Khan inspected Jamrud Civil Hospital and Agency Headquarters Hospital in Landikotal.The team checked staff attendance registers, went to various wards and other departments in the hospitals.
It found dozens of employees absent from duties in Jamrud and Landikotal hospitals.The absenting staff members were issued notices. Tasleem Khan, newly appointed deputy commissioner, took action on the public complaints and paid a surprise visit to the Gynae, Paeds, emergency departments and operation theatre of Women and Children Hospital. The DC wrote a letter to health secretary and commissioner, recommending action against erring officials.
