Traders rally condemns Rohingya Muslims’ persecution

OKARA: The leadership of the Markazi Anjumane Tajiran (MAT) Wednesday suspended their business activities and took out a huge protest rally against injustices being meted out to Muslims of Rohingya at the behest of the government of Myanmar.
Religious leaders and lawyers also participated in the rally. It was an unprecedented strike of traders in the city history.
Responding to the call of traders’ leader Haji Chaudhry Muhammad Saleem Sadiq and others, businessmen of all kinds shuttered down their shops against genocide of Rohingya Muslims.
A huge rally led by Haji Saleem, MAT president, general secretary Sheikh Riaz Anwar, district bar president Chaudhry Javed Aslam advocate, general secretary Rao Abid Mushtaq, Sufi Muhammad Latif Naqushbandi, Haji Ihsanul Haq of the JUI-F, Syed Kausar Ali Rizvi of Fiqua Jafria, Zafarullah Qamar Lakhvi of Jamiate Ahle-Hadith and others led the rally from Gole chowk to Ghausia chowk.
The participants were holding banners inscribed with curses on the government of Myanmar.
They raised slogans against the government of Myanmar.
Addressing the participants, the leaders urged Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif and the Pak Army head Gen Raheel Sharif to raise the issue of Rohingya community at global level.
NURSERY INAUGURATED: The District Coordination Officer (DCO) Wednesday inaugurated a 22-bed children nursery in the DHQ hospital.
The nursery had been provided with a complete incubating system. The inauguration of the nursery had been delayed for a long time on account of different obstacle and hurdles in its establishment.
