Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration on request of the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) carried out an operation against encroachers in Sector G-14/1. "We retrieved 50 to 60 kanals of land in sector G-14/1 which being occupied by creating a boundary wall," Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat told 'The News'. The official said the operation was executed on request of the housing foundation which was participated by reserves of Islamabad Police and anti encroachment staff while heavy machinery was also used to complete the task successfully. Hamza said that Monday's operation was start of campaign to eject land grabbers and affectees who had received compensation from the Housing Foundation so that the genuine allottees could get possession of their plots. Later, another operation was launched at illegal timber market in sector I-11 and state land was retrieved from them.
