C/A deficit contracts 22pc in Jul-Feb

KARACHI: Pakistan’s current account deficit sharply contracted 22 percent to $8.8 billion in the July-February period of the current fiscal year of 2018/19, the central bank’s data showed.

The State Bank of Pakistan’s data showed that current account deficit noticeably narrowed to $356 million in February compared with $873 million in January.
