ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) President Salim Saifullah Khan has appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan to resolve the sports federations’ issues on priority basis as stalemate is affecting games’ progress.
Talking to media at the inauguration ceremony of the 42nd All Pakistan HEC Inter-Varsity Women Tennis Championship at the PTF Complex on Wednesday, Saifullah said the matter has been going out of hand.
“There has been a total stalemate as majority of federations are waiting for the next move from the government that does not seem coming. It has been almost 10 months now that the government has adopted wait and see policy. Such an attitude is destroying the very base of sports in the country.”
The PTF president said Pakistan is set to play against India in an historic Davis Cup tie in September in Islamabad. “We are to prepare for that event. We are sending our junior and women teams abroad for international tournaments.”
