Positive changes in syllabi being introduced: minister
LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Schools Education Murad Raas has said that armed forces are our national pride. It is a fact that officers and Jawans have always sacrificed their lives for safeguarding the motherland for which we are grateful to them.
He stated this during a meeting with a 95-member delegation of 48th PN Staff Course headed by Rear Admiral Naveed Ahmad Rizvi Commandant Pakistan Naval War College at 90 SQA, Tuesday.
Murad Raas said positive changes in syllabi were being introduced by March 2020. He said there was a dire need to focus on our priorities; had billion of rupees been spent transparently on education instead of orange line train then our children could have acquired quality education.
The delegation was briefed by Punjab Home Department and C&W department regarding law and order and various developments respectively. The delegation was also briefed about the security situation in Punjab. The delegation was informed that the law and order had substantially been improved in the province and menace of extremism had almost been curbed under National Action Plan and Operation Radd-ul-Fasad.
Similarly, P&D Department briefed the meeting about ongoing development projects in education, health, agriculture and other sectors in detail. The minister informed the delegation that special attention was being paid for the grooming of students besides providing them quality education. He said that Iqbaliyat and religious education was being included in the syllabus and soon improved syllabus would be introduced in public sector schools.

UVAS contests: In connection with its Spring Festival 2019 the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) arranged various competitions on Tuesday.
In quiz competition, Shoaib Khan & Imran Shahid’s team got first position, Danish Raza & Usman Ali got second position while Sajid Ali & Mahnoor Idrees stood on third position.
UVAS Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani was the chief guest on the occasion and gave away the shields and certificates to the winners while senior tutor Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf, Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani and a large number of students and faculty members attended.
symposium: Medical education would be upgraded as per the vision of the prime minister by bringing it at par with the international standards.
King Edward Medical University Vice Chancellor Prof Khalid Masood Gondal and Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Prof Khalid Masood Gondal said this while addressing medical education symposium at the Lahore General Hospital.
They said it was the basic right of every citizen to get equal and modern health facilities for which we had to maintain standard as well and train our young doctors.
They also appreciated the steps being taken at Lahore General Hospital for the training of the doctors.
