Chinese delegation briefed on Urban Unit

LAHORE: An eight-member delegation from Tianjin Academy China visited the Urban Unit office here on Thursday.

CEO Urban Unit Khalid Sherdil gave them briefing on projects, mandate and success stories of the unit. Vice Director Tianjin Municipal Peoples Government China Chen Weiming led the delegation of municipal and urban specialists from China. Urban Unit and Tianjin Academy experts agreed to establish a platform for collaboration between the both parties to extend cooperation in research and development, mutual exchange and transfer of knowledge in research activities, technical analysis and ideas in policymaking and strategic planning, and mutual capacity development in the areas of common interest. The Urban Unit intends to promote the professional development opportunities to learn from Chinese experts whereas Tianjin Academy will provide technical insight to experience the major interventions being taken in China for the uplift of Punjab Spatial Strategy. “We are looking forward to jointly utilize our resources with a proper plan while focusing on exchange of frequent bilateral visits and facilitation in organising events.
