Sallu sets the ball rolling for noble cause
ISLAMABAD: Former chief selector and advisor to chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Salahuddin Ahmad Sallu has contributed a substantial amount to the fund of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohamand Dams.
Sallu also called on Pakistan cricket team members, former cricketers to come forward for the noble cause. “I would request all the former Test cricketers, Pakistan team members and domestic cricket players to come forward and donate to the noble cause.”
It may be pointed out here that the Chief Justice Saqib Nisar earlier took the first step by announcing Rs one million donation for cause.“Definitely there is greater need to preserve our water resources and for that we need to take these positive steps as early as possible,” Sallu said.
He praised sportsmen’s role saying they always came forward for such positive causes in the past. “History is evident that whenever such requirements came, sportsmen stepped forward in a big way. I hope that this time again they would put in their share for noble cause in a big way,” he said.
He appreciated Chief Justice’s initiative and said that the nation desperately required such steps. “It is really a matter of great pride to see Armed forces contributing to this cause. Inshallah we would soon see people coming forward from all walks of life to contribute to the cause.”
