AIOU holds ‘Naat’ contest

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) here held ‘Naat competition’ among the local students in order to inculcate true spirit of Islam among the youth and pay tributes to the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) for his eternal massage of peace for the entire humanity. Minister of State for Religious Affairs Pir Muhammad Aminul Hasnat Shah who was the chief guest on the occasion urged the young generation to follow teachings of Holy Quran and ‘Seerat-un-Nabi’ for having a successful life here and hereafter. He strongly condemned those who kill their brothers and sisters in the name of religion.
A true Muslim, he added always upholds glorious principles of Islam, i.e. love, peace and harmony. The minister said that the entire nation should support the present government and the armed forces for their action against the terrorists and criminals. “We fully stand by our forces for what they doing providing peace and security to the people,” he added. He appreciated the AIOU for holding such competitions, encouraging the students to develop their love for the Holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (peace be upon him) and seek aspirations from his teachings.
AIOU Vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui announced that the university would invite distinguished scholars to deliver lectures on relevant topics for the benefit of the youth. He congratulated the winners of ‘naat’ completion, stating ‘naat’ reflects their deep attachment with Islam and love for the Holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (peace be upon him).
Tahteer Zahura, IMCG, G-6/2 was declared first Aleena Tariq, IMCG, G-10/4 came second and Shaheena, from IMCG, F-7/2bagged third position among females, while Muhammad Akram, AIOU Pindi region bagged first position in the contest while Amir Rehman, of IMCB, H-8 came second and Hafiq Muhammad Waqas, IMCB H-9 clinched third position among the males. Special prizes went to Amna Arshaqd of IMCG and Iqra Noor of AIOU P;indi region. Later, the minister distributed certificates and cash prizes among the position-holders.
