KARACHI: Behram Khan slammed a fine century, while spinner Faraz Ahmad Khan bowled splendidly to put K-Electric in driving seat against Sindh Police on the opening day of their three-day fifth round Group A game of the Patron’s Trophy Grade-II here at RLCA Ground on Wednesday.
Behram smashed 107 off 105 balls with 12 fours and five sixes to guide K-Electric to 309 all out in their first innings.
Behram was extended solid support by Saud Shakil (65) and Javed Mansoor (54).
Farhan Ayub got 4-34. Alam Khursheed and Ahmed Bin Nasir captured two wickets each.
Left-arm spinner Faraz then picked 4-39 to enable K-Electric to reduce Sindh Police to 111-6, in response, at stumps. Sheraz Ali was batting on 34.
K-Electric lead the group with 26 points and a win will ensure their place in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile in other vital match of the same group here at NBP Sports Complex, another hot contenders for the last four stage, Navy were bowled out for 295 in their first innings against Saudi Cricket International.
Shehzad Khan top-scored with 88, which featured 16 fours. Hamza Ghanchi (64), Fawad Khan (43) and Owais Rehmani (40) were the other prominent contributors. Kamran Khan got 3-107. Junaid Naeem and Mohammad Zohaib captured two wickets each. In response, Saudi Cricket International were 64-2 at close.
Here at UBL Ground No1, Basit Ali picked 6-45 to help Customs to dismiss Medicam for a paltry 99 in their first innings.
