‘PDA chief to remain BRT project director’
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday ordered that Director General (DG) Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) Israrul Haq would continue as project director till completion of Bus Rapid Transit project.
A two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Ijaz Anwar also ordered that no order of his transfer shall be made without prior information of the high court. The bench passed these directives, while hearing the progress report about BRT project at PHC Human Rights Cell.
The court summoned GM SNGPL and Chief Executive Pesco on April 26 after the DG PDA informed the bench that the SNGPL and Pesco were not cooperating to remove electricity poles to other places coming in the way to BRT. The court was also informed that the SNGPL was not properly covering its pipelines being shifted to roadsides due to BRT and only using sands which was causing problems for vehicles on the roads.
