Militant, 10 suspects arrested in Kohat
KOHAT: The police on Friday arrested an alleged militant and 10 other suspected persons in a search operation in the district, police sources said.
They said that the police conducted a search operation on information about the presence of a proclaimed offender in Nusratkhel area in Kohat. They said that the accused and his accomplices opened fired on the police party in which a Constable Mehran Ahmad sustained bullet-injuries. They said the police launched a search operation during which a militant involved in an attack on the security forces was arrested.
The arrested a militant was identified as Abbas Khan. The police also arrested 10 other suspects in the search operation and recovered arms from them. The arrested militant was shifted to the local police station where he was being interrogated, the sources added.
Meanwhile, the first information report of the firing incident, in which a police cop was wounded, was registered against the Abbas Khan and his four other accomplices including Zahid Mehmood, Fazal Mehmood, Waqar Shah and Shah Muhammad at the Cantonment Police Station.
