‘Dedicated Motorway Police need of hour’

LAHORE : National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) Additional Inspector General Khalid Mahmood said that in future Motorway Police have to face the challenges related to CPEC and others.

Better motivated and dedicated Motorway Police is need of the hour. Suggestions and plan are under consideration to increase the amenities and facilities of Motorway Police. Monthly rest of Motorway Police would also be enhanced along with special pay package and other benefits for officials and officers to improve professional working of the department. Motorway Police is public-friendly and service-oriented force. Delivery of prompt assistance to the distressed road users is the trademark of the department, he added.

He said this while addressing the officers in Police Darbar at Beat 13 of Central Zone. DIG Ahmad Arslan Malik , SSP Kamran Adil and other police officials were also present. Khalid Mahmood ordered the NH&MP officers to ensure equal application of law irrespective of one’s status. The well-mannered conduct with commuters, courtesy and indiscriminate enforcement of law must be ensured to enhance the image of NH&MP, he said. He laid stress on quick response to Helpline 130 calls.

Additional IG Khalid Mahmood said, "We will further raise the confidence of the people in the department." He appreciated the sacrifices of the martyres and said that their sacrifices for the success of NH&MP would never be neglected. He also offered Dua for the police martyres during the Darbar. The NH&MP additional IG also listened to the problems faced by the officers and issued instructions to redress their grievances.
