Dr Amir Liaquat to join PTI
KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Ismail has claimed that renowned TV anchor Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain has decided to join PTI.
Talking to media here on Saturday Imran Ismail said that anchor would formally announce his joining at a press conference with PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Monday.
He stated People of Karachi like Dr Amir Liaquat and there is a consensus within the party over his inclusion.
In October last year Imran Ismail made a similar claim that Amir Liaquat who is a former leader of MQM would join PTI but the plan could not be materialised reportedly owing to the opposition of some PTI leaders. It is worth to mention here that Amir Liaquat, 46, came into politics in 2002 and has served as federal minister for Religious Affairs. He parted ways with MQM in 2017.
