NAB summons Nawaz today
ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi has summoned former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today (Saturday) to record his statement in Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investments Ltd case.
According to sources, the NAB Rawalpindi, headed by Irfan Mangi, was also preparing supplementary references on Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investment Ltd case. Mangi was a member of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) constituted by the Supreme Court (SC) and has recently given the charge as DG NAB Rawalpindi.
Sources said supplementary references in Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investment Ltd is likely to be filed next week in the Accountability Court.
They said the NAB has got transcription of interview of Hussain Nawaz Sharif with Hamid Mir in Geo TV programme ‘Capital Talk’.
The NAB has approached the Pakistan Electronic Media regulatory Authority (Pemra) to get recording of interview of Hussain Nawaz but the Pemra responded that it did not keep record of programmes beyond 90 days.
Sources said the NAB has decided to keep interview of Hussain Nawaz Sharif as record in the supplementary reference.
According to PML-N sources, the former prime minster has decided not to appear before NAB in Rawalpindi today, says a media report. The sources said Nawaz will appear on Feb 13.
