LAHORE: The Pakistan Tanners Association and the Pakistan Footwear Manufacturers Association are jointly holding the 1st Pakistan Mega Leather Show here from Friday to Sunday, according to a press release issued by the tanners’ association.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, the chairman of the Pakistan Tanners Association, Muhammad Musaddiq, said a large number of leather manufacturers will showcase their products at the international event taking place at the International Expo Centre.
It will be inaugurated by Federal Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastagir Khan.
On Saturday, Pakistan and India will hold a group dialogue titled “South Asia – India-Bangladesh-Pakistan: next hub for Leather Footwear.”
Delegations from European Union countries Italy, Germany, Portugal and France, and from Turkey, Russia, China, South Africa, Taiwan and Japan have also confirmed their intention to participate in the show, the press release quoted him as saying.
He also said the show will provide a useful platform to tanners, manufacturers of footwear, leather garments and gloves, chemicals companies and vendors supplying equipments, machinery and components to the leather industry.
