SHEIKHUPURA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has said his party will not spare former National Accountability Bureau chief Qamar Zaman Chaudhry after coming into power.

Addressing a rally here on Sunday, he claimed that the former NAB chief facilitated corruption of government officials. “Wherever you go, we will take you to task, you are the nation's criminal,” said Imran, adding that people had taken to the streets against the PML-N. He said Qamar supported Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari’s corruption. He said the test of the Sharif family was not over. The whole family was involved in the Hudaibiya Paper Mills case. He said this case was worth Rs1.25 billion and registered 25 years ago. He said until influential people continued shifting money abroad, there would be no future of Pakistan.

He said he needed 200 people to bring a change in Pakistan. He said the Sharifs and Zardari destroyed the country and it happened because they did not allow merit to rule and destroyed the national institutions to commit corruption. He said he faced many difficulties to hold this rally as the Sheikhupura deputy commissioner created hurdles for the event. “Is Shahbaz Sharif your father,” he asked the deputy commissioner. “I came to Sheikhupura four years ago and saw only 10 per cent of the current attendance,” he said, expressing his gratitude for the huge number of people listening to his address. He especially appreciated the participation of women in the gathering.

He said that today people were on the roads against the PML-N due to the Khatam-e-Nabuwwat issue. He said Nawaz Sharif established 30 factories from one factory after coming into power. Nawaz came into power to make money. As the Sharifs got richer, the nation became poorer. The effort of the PML-N government to change the Khatam-e-Nabuwwat oath had been foiled, he said, adding that Nawaz Sharif distributed rice with his own hands on the last Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH).

The PTI chief said Malaysia exported electronics worth Rs100 billion annually. Dr Mahathir Muhammad focused on education system, strengthened institutions and did not allow corruption at the higher level. He said Lee Kuan Yew built Singapore also through hard work while focusing on the education sector and strengthening the institutions.

Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed also addressed the gathering. He said: “Nawaz Sharif is leaving, Imran Khan is coming. The PML-N government will end between December 11 and March 11.” He said Sheikhupura was actually founded on his name.
