Rowing team wins gold in Malaysia

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan won gold medal in the Asian Indoor Rowing Championships 2017 held in Johar Baharu (Malaysia). The rowing team claimed gold medal in the mixed four competition. The team consisted of Maqbool Ali, Rashid Hussain, Rabia Amjad and Naila Bano. It is for the first time in 14 years that Pakistan won gold in rowing at Asian level.Pakistan lightweight men pair of Waliullah Khan and Muzammil Shehzad finished second to earn silver. Pakistan’s lightweight mixed captured bronze medal on offer also. The team members were Sohaib Ahmed, Muzammil Shehzad, Naila Bano and Nighat Kausar.
