Anti-polio campaign from tomorrow

FAISALABAD: Total 1.321 million children under five years of age will be administered polio vaccine drops in the district during the next round of a three-day anti-polio campaign to be started from November 20 (tomorrow).
In this connection, State Minister for Textile Haji Akram Ansari, Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani and MNA Begum Khalida Mansoor jointly inaugurated the anti-polio campaign at UC-230 Railway Colony on Saturday. District Health Authority CEO Dr Zafar Abbas, DHO Dr Asif Shahzad and members of civil society were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister urged upon the polio teams to administer polio vaccine to very child. He said that the repeated anti-polio campaigns were being carried out to completely wipe out the chance of polio virus. Deputy Commissioner urged upon the parents to get their children vaccinated during the anti-polio campaign for complete eradication of polio virus in the country. He directed the Health Department officers for effective monitoring of the campaign to achieve 100pc target. DHO Dr Asif informed that all necessary arrangements had been finalised to make the campaign a success.
