‘Mini hockey ground to have astro-turf soon’

LAHORE: Chairman Steering Committee Sports Punjab Hanif Abbasi and Secretary Sports Punjab Aamir Jan visited mini hockey ground adjacent to National Hockey Stadium on Thursday.
Both Chairman Steering Committee and Secretary Sports Punjab inspected the civil work, floodlights and astro-turf laying process at the mini hockey ground.Talking with media, Hanif Abbasi said Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has never compromised on transparency, quality and time frame in his political career and we are completing various sports projects as per his vision. “The astro-turf laying process at the mini hockey ground is being completed speedily. The work order for astro-turf has been placed and hopefully it will reach here in near future,” he added.
Secretary Sports Punjab Muhammad Aamir Jan, in his media talk, said the contractor has been directed to complete the remaining work as early as possible. “The floodlights have been approved for the mini ground. The mini ground is being equipped with all top standard facilities. After completion, the mini ground can stage university, college and school hockey matches day/night throughout the year,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Chairman Steering Committee Sports Punjab Hanif Abbasi presided over an important meeting of SBP’s Project Management Unit (PMU) at National Hockey Stadium on Thursday. Secretary Sports Punjab Aamir Jan gave a detailed briefing about the under-progress and new sports projects in the province.
