KARACHI: The owner of a general store located near Indus Plaza, Sohrab Goth, was shot dead by unidentified attackers at his shop on Tuesday evening. Sohrab Goth SHO Shoaib Sheikh identified the victim as 18-year-old Meer Haider Ali, son of Meer Siyal, and confirmed that he was targeted at his shop. Haider was being rushed to a nearby hospital but he succumbed to his wounds en route. The SHO said Haider’s family had a dispute with his in-laws and police would be investigating whether the murder was linked to the enmity.
Woman found dead
An elderly woman was found strangled to death at her Mowach Goth house under mysterious circumstances.
According to the family of the victim, 72-year-old Munni Begum was suffering mental health issues and had ended her own life. The victim’s husband, Hassan, had passed away 20 years ago.
However, Mochko police SHO Babar Hameed said they would be investigating all possible aspects as it was highly unlikely that the elderly woman had strangled herself.
