Sindh Women’s Swimming Championship on October 28, 29
KARACHI: Karachi Women’s Swimming Association (KWSA) will be organising the 25th Palmolive Sindh Women’s Swimming Championship on October 28 and 29, the association said on Tuesday.
It said that it was a major initiative that began 25 years ago. It has been the nursery of women’s swimming in Pakistan that has brought laurels to the country by winning medals at international swimming events, KWSA said.
Sindh women’s swimming has been a ground breaking event for women in sports and in promoting gender equality with the largest number of females participating in a sporting event in the country, it added.
This silver anniversary of women’s swimming is expected to be a momentous event with a record number of participants, the association said.Participating school, clubs and individuals will be issued the championship details shortly, the organisers said. The events will be contested in six age-group categories: 8 and under, 9-10; 11-12; 13-14; 15-16 and open age-group.
