PESHAWAR: The police recovered ice (meth) and arrested an alleged smuggler in the cantonment area on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference here, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Cantt Kamal Hussain said that 1040 grams of ice drug was recovered from the possession of one Sher Zaman, who was travelling in public transport.
The official said the accused was smuggling the ice drug to Punjab. “We are cracking down on drugs in the city. The recovery is a huge success as the new drug has ruined many lives in recent years,” Kamal Hussain said.
He was flanked by SHO West Cantt Dost Mohammad and SHO Gulberg Rizwana Hameed at the press conference. The official said that woman SHO of the city arrested one Sheema along with a man identified as Imran on the charges of killing her mother-in-law in a bid to keep their relations secret.
“The police led by Rizwana Hameed also arrested one Abdul Waheed wanted by police for killing his brother.
A woman kidnapped from Gulberg was recovered and the kidnapper known as Siraj was arrested,” said Kamal Hussain.
Meanwhile, a according to press release, the police recovered 25 kilograms of hashish from a car in the limits of Chamkani Police Station. It said that 15 kilogram hashish was recovered from another car in the jurisdiction of the Sarband Police Station.
