Islamabad: Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) here on Saturday dispatched a 7-member group to Japan for 18-day short training course on Support System for the Persons with Disabilities.
In-charge of JICA training programme in Economic Affairs Division (EAD) Asghar Ali and Chief Representative of JICA Mitsuyoshi Kawasaki attended the sendoff ceremony of 18 day course said a press release issued here.
Addressing the trainees Asghar Ali said “You will be the representatives of your country in Japan. I expect you to learn the Japanese approach towards the issues of special persons and implement them in your respective domain.”
Speaking on the occasion Mitsuyoshi Kawasaki said Support system for persons with disabilities is very crucial since it provides an enabling environment that would allow full realisation of the potential of special persons through their inclusive mainstreaming and providing them full support of the government private sector and civil society.
This Training Programme for Young Leaders of Pakistan is initiated by the Government of Japan under technical cooperation scheme for Pakistan. The course has been designed essentially for young social welfare sector professionals of the provincial and federal governments of the country.
It is expected to enhance and polish the capabilities of the participants in the field of social welfare especially for persons with disabilities through the Japanese experience.
The Training Programme for Young Leaders was started by JICA in 1991 and till date around 525 government officials of various ministries and departments of the county have been sent to Japan for training in various fields of technical and management positions.
