Karachi thrash PCB Greens in Fatima Jinnah cricket
KARACHI: Karachi defeated Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Greens by 98 runs in their match of the 12th Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah National Women Cricket Championship at the Country Club Ground, Muridke, on Tuesday.
PCB Greens perished for only 99 while chasing 187. Huma Shafiq scored 43 which had eight fours.
Mehak Amin and Ramin Shamim got two wickets each.
After opting to bat first, Karachi posted 197-8 in the stipulated 50 overs with Fatima Sana scoring 56. She struck five fours from 72 deliveries. Huraina Sajjad belted 30 off 70 balls. Laila Hayat got 2-41.
In the other match, at the same venue, PCB Blues defeated Faisalabad by eight wickets. Faisalabad posted 110 all out in 36 overs with Farwa Batool making 48 off 52 balls, smashing six fours.
Komal Shaheen was the main destroyer as she claimed 6-30.
PCB Blues raced to the target in the 32nd over after losing two wickets.
Areeba Shumaim hit unbeaten 53 off 70 balls, striking eight fours and one six. Madiha Rasheed made 25 not out. Sadia Iqbal got 1-33.
