Summer in Karachi has always been one of the worst in the country. The scorching heat along with a high percentage of humidity leads to heat strokes. With the onset of summer, precautions need to be taken to avoid fatalities. Moreover, it has been reported that many citizens are already admitted in hospitals due to various symptoms of heat strokes.
People need to be more wary of this problem. The media should spread awareness, and proper precautions should be taken. We should also plant more trees to provide shade for people on the streets. Trees play an important role in holding moisture and providing a cooler atmosphere. A large number of trees have been cut down for the development of the Green Line Metro Bus. Groups of people can also work together to set up relief camps where water and shade can be provided to people.
