New members elected to KU Academic Council
The University of Karachi on Tuesday held elections for representation of two associate professors and four assistant professors/lecturers in the varsity's Academic Council.
As per a notification, Dr Riaz Ahmed secured 34 votes, followed by Dr Solaha Rehman with 33 votes for the post of associate professors.
For the position of assistant professors/lecturers, Dr Ghufran Alam polled 184 votes, Dr Muhammad Moiz Khan received 177, Mohsin Ali secured 174 and Farhan Ahmed Siddiqui polled 126 votes. These elected candidates would hold office for three years from the date of first meeting of the Academic Council.
KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Ajmal Khan and Registrar Professor Dr Nabeel Ahmed Zubairi congratulated the elected candidates.
