All eyes on SC for decision on PanamaLeaks case: Siraj
LAHORE: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Sirajul Haq on Sunday said the nation is looking towards the Supreme Court for decision on PanamaLeaks case. He said that indiscriminate action should be taken against terrorism adding that religion should not be targeted under the garb of these operations.
He said murder is murder whosoever commits it. He said like Saudi Arabia and some other Islamic countries, there should be one grand mufti or institution in Pakistan which should issue decrees.
He said the whole nation is looking towards SC for decision on PanamaLeaks issue adding that the nation will win in the Panama case and corruption will lose. He said that problem will not be resolved by removing some pages having blasphemous material from social media adding that the elements involved in the matter should be brought to justice and should be punished according to Article 256-C of the constitution.
Addressing the participants of leadership workshop at party headquarters in Mansoora and later on talking to media, Haq demanded appointment of Mufti Azam or grand Mufti on the pattern of Saudi Arab and some other Muslim countries in Pakistan.
He added that the whole region from Afghanistan to Libya was suffering from terrorism and during action against terrorism Ulema and seminaries were being targeted.
He said all the political parties including JI have presented their suggestions to government regarding extension in tenure of the military courts adding that now it is the responsibility of the government to create consensus among the political parties over the issue.
Haq said that JI rejects mini budget adding that there is no need for presenting mini budget. He alleged that Gen Musharraf gifted terrorism to the nation by becoming US agent just for dollars.
He complained that Ulema and religious scholars were being harassed by police in Punjab. He added that the Prime Minister had also resorted to giving sermons like the Khateeb of Badshahi Masjid.
He said the National Assembly has passed bill regarding the merger of Fata with KP. He added that for quite some time some bloggers have been disseminating blasphemous and sacrilegious consents but the government has been keeping mum over such a sensitive issue.
Even the people from minority communities are also demanding strict action against those committing blasphemy on social media, he added. He said there is no allegation of corruption on any leader of the JI adding that JI wants to bring change in the country through the power of vote.
